Math Contest Practice

Privacy Policy

Last updated October 22, 2026

Math Contest Practice (the Math Practice iPhone app and the website at mathprep4kids.web.app) is a small practice site for grade 4 and 5 math contests, run by Sri, a parent. This page explains what it stores and why. In short: only what's needed to keep your children's practice scores, with no ads, no tracking, and nothing sold or shared.

Who uses it

A parent signs in and adds a profile for each child. Children use the app under the parent's account; they don't have accounts of their own and are never asked for personal information.

What we store

Answers to a test that hasn't been submitted yet are saved only on your device, so a child can pick up where they left off. They are not sent to us.

Photos of math problems

If you use "Make tests from photos", the photos you choose are shrunk on your device and sent to our server, which sends them to Anthropic's Claude AI to read the problems and write new ones like them. We don't save the photos, and Anthropic doesn't use them to train its AI. Under its commercial terms, Anthropic may keep requests for a limited time (currently up to 30 days) for safety and abuse monitoring, then deletes them. Please photograph only the math problems, and leave your child's full name and other personal details out of the picture. We also keep a count of how many times you've used this today, to enforce the daily limit.

How it's used

Only to run the app: to show each child their tests, scores, and past results, and to reply to your messages. Photos are used only to make the practice tests you asked for. We don't use anything for advertising, we don't track you across other apps or websites, we don't use analytics services, and we never sell your data or share it beyond the services described on this page.

Where it's kept

Everything is stored with Google Firebase (Firebase Authentication and Cloud Firestore), which runs the sign-in, the database, and the server that makes tests from photos. Sign-in is handled by Google Sign-In or Sign in with Apple; their own privacy policies cover what they do when you sign in. Each family's data can only be read by the parent who signed in; data is encrypted in transit.

Deleting your data

Children's privacy

The app is meant for parents to use with their children. We don't knowingly collect personal information from children: a child's profile holds only the nickname and grade a parent enters, plus practice results. A parent can review or delete it at any time as described above.

Changes

If this policy changes, we'll update this page and the date at the top.
